IK has also announced that they will reduce the development cycle on SampleTank
by 6 months...which means the next version will be out in about 10.5 years...

My predictions are also guitarless, drumsless and keyboardless.

I predict 2nd quarter release (May), upgrade price $149, MAP $249 and on sale within 18 months after a disappointing launch.

I like the pool idea. Could we set up something using pay pal?

Well you've got 2 groups here...

The ones who invested THOUSANDS of dollars, and have waited 11 years (ha ha..)
(who basically are getting the large end of the shaft)

and

The ones who just jumped on board because they got all the stuff that WE paid
THOUSANDS for for $50 (in the MASS sell off to offset the LOSS of Customers that
THEY THEMSELVES (IK) created)....and will NOW gladly buy the upgrade and hail it as

THE GREATEST SAMPLER IN THE HISTORY OF SAMPLING...

and then THEY can wait 11 years for the next version...

Mark my words...there will be marketing hype unparalleled upon release (sound familiar?)

That's the reason I won't buy Sampletank 3. When I got fed up with Play and went looking for stuff, Miroslav got recommended to me for orchestra. Hmm ok, well that's not very expensive, let's see what the software costs. Also not very expensive. Sounds good, I'll buy it... Wait, where's the 64-bit version?

I won't use 32-bit plugins, because I find it annoying to deal with bridge software. Silly maybe, but then I'm a hobbyist so it isn't like I have to just deal with it to make a client happy or anything.

Now there's a 64-bit version coming, but my concern is that his shows a massive lack of support. I mean that is a serious long time without going 64-bit. That doesn't bode well to me for future updates.

So, in a few years, maybe we'll see. However at this point, I'm getting pretty fat n' happy with my Kontakt collection. :D

Looks okay but will it run on an iPad?

That's pretty much how I feel about SONAR. When I factor in how much I've spent in upgrades since SONAR 3, I definitely have not come out on top (compared to someone who buys SONAR for the first time today).
That is of course, financially speaking only. In every other sense I've had a quality recording program to use for the last 10 years or so.

I hereby predict that when it's released that all previous owners of ST2 will get a "special introductory" offer (lasting, let's say, a month) of $99 semolians.

If I can use some of my $68 in Jam Points that would mean I could get it for $50 which is about what I would pay for it.

$50 will likely be the Group Buy price they're planning to have this Summer......I'll wait the two months.
