I think I have almost every or almost every expansion for BFD, SD 2, SSD 4 and have dozens of drum products for Kontakt. Yes I have a problem. :)

Ah, but as well do you have all but two EZDrummer packs, all Voxengo kit pieces, Studio Cat Purrfect Drums, Bluenoise Plugins Rock and Metal kits, Ocean Way Drums for Infinite Player, all Addictive Drums expansion packs and Jamstix 3 plus all expansion packs (including Jamcussion)?

If so, welcome brother.

Yes on ezdrummer packs, studio cat( which I never use, I think I have 2 sets of Jim's drums actually), ocean way infinite player, ocean way gold , (before infinite player), sonic reality drum masters gold, a boatload of other sonic reality infinite player kits from various group buys, epik drums, drumcore 3 with 4 preordered, jamstix 3 with all expansions, a bunch of acousticasamples kits, all NI Abbey road series vintage-modern sets, studio drummer, drumasonic 2 and drumasonic luxury.

I actually had all of Addictive Drums paks as of 2 years ago, but that's one of two drum plugins I've ever sold (other was linplug rmiv). I couldn't get into AD, I thought the sound was so weak compared to everything else I have.

I haven't tried bluenoise. Also have my eye on analogue drums. I like the sound of the demos.

Nice to know I'm not alone out there :)

It's like lookin' in a mirror.

Except I imagine you're prettier.

Funny, I love those expansions. I think evil drums is my favorite of all expansion packs for all drums vstis. I think I have every or almost every expansion for BFD, SD 2, SSD 4 and have dozens of drum products for Kontakt. Yes I have a problem. :)

Actually I should probably take back most of what I said as I hadn't really given them enough time.
The evil drums stuff I do like but I felt I already have stuff that's quite similar with the BFD3 content, but some of the Andy Johns classic kits sound too thin for my liking, especially the kicks.

It's one of the things I really don't like about metal drums, the kicks sound horribly thin and clicky, I know that they need to be eq'd that way as when you're playing two kick drums that fast you need something to cut through the mix in order to hear it, that's the kind of metal that to my ears is the sonic equivalent of having a pair of woodpeckers strapped to both ears and one of things I really dislike about that whole genre, perhaps speed metal, more than metal is the right term. But I really don't get that kind of drumming, clever it might be but it sounds crap to my ears.
Sorry, I know this forum is full of metal fans who'll no doubt take issue with the above but each to their own eh ?

Rant over

Steve,

I take no exception to you not liking metal and especially metal drums.

You are right on WRT why metal kick drums are "usually" thin. It's all about the attack not the boom. The bass usually takes care of the boom in metal (IMHO).

Cool, so that's one down 10.000 to go

No metal here. 60s-80s rock then singer songwriter, indie rock onward.

Platinum Samples
We hired a bassist and guitarist for the Andy Johns sessions so he could EQ the drums to fit correctly in a track... They're made to sound like his drum recordings when used inside a song.

I've never heard anyone say that Joe's samples are thin.... The demos are all flat... With no additional EQ or Compression...

https://www.platinumsamples.com/JoeBarresi.php

We also produced Kits 1 through 4 of the BFD3 factory kits, which follow a very similar production style to our other expansion packs.

Cheers,

Rail

Amen! But I still want these for Kontakt (I'm sick...). I also read that they (Sonic Reality) will be producing additional libraries with Hugh to reproduce kit sounds from other artists he produced over the years.

rail, do you have presets or straightup kits for your bfd3 kits.  I may have gotten out of sorts with the betas, but all my kits and presets tagged as bfd3 are blues, county, rock, etc. jm or ... DV,
