I don't use those functions, have those buttons remapped to other things.

So... if you don't maximize the PRV, you can switch between veiws using the console buttons? Can you maximize/minimize the PRV with the console? If you minimize the PRV with the mouse or keyboard, can you switch veiws? Could you do it before X2?

@John

Still no luck with stopping the VS from triggering the PRV.
Although its not triggering any sounds I can still see it hitting the notes in PRV

My Settings are.

Control Surfaces > In Port CONSOLE (VS-700) Out Port CONSOLE (VS-700)

In Devices I have ticked.

Inputs
CONSOLE (VS-700)
DV-7 (VS-700)
V-lINK (VS-700)
FANTOM VS (VS-700)
IO MIDI (VS-700)
I don't have IO (VS-700) Ticked.

Outputs

CONSOLE (VS-700)
DV-7 (VS-700)
FANTOM VS (VS-700)
IO MIDI (VS-700)
I don't have IO (VS-700) Ticked.

In regards to the Access Panel issue I have my findings are....

Track to Console and console to track no problem.

If I hit Piano roll it comes up in a floating window and when hitting track or console you can see it change behind.
To get back to track or console view I have to hit close.

If I max the PRV on screen then there is no way to jump to track or Console with out closing prv... When opening PRV it then will be a floating window again..

Is this Normal ?

Just noticed that If I am in console view and use the VS-700c to change to PRV once I close PRV I am unable to change between Track and Console view.

This is also the same when using the key board between ALT 3 and ALT 2

Puzzling that about the note triggering. I've had the console triggering notes before, but it's always been due it being set the way I described. Your config sounds correct to me.

Ok, I just tested X1 again (don't have X2 yet) regarding the VIEW issue:

This is how I work: Multidock contains Pianoroll and Console. Those Multidock-"windows" are not maximized, they just fill half the screen (adjustable by moving the horizontal bar that devides the Multidock from the usual track-view. I switch through them via the buttons just fine. Pressing TRACK simply minimizes the Multidock and shows Tracks only. Pressing PIANOROLL or CONSOLE opens the Multidock-"windows" again.

(This also works, if your Multidock-"windows" are maximized. Btw. maximizing and de-maximizing works with the mouse only, however for me it's not necessary to do that from the console. Still, this could be implemented via CMD+PIANOROLL for example. But that maybe should be low priority.)

So, when does that work: It works only with projects, that originated in 8.5 (and were changed and saved in X1). It does not work with fresh X1 projects, because then, as soon as I press TRACK to minimize the Multidock, it won't ever open up again via the VS700c console. Why? I have no idea. This drove me almost crazy years ago, but I simply sticked to "old" 8.5 templates since then. BUT: I just opened several X1 tutorial projects, and it works there too !! So it's just the fresh X1 projects, that don't work for me.

There is only one other bug once in a while, that I cannot replicate right now: sometimes the TRACK button (to minimize the Multidock entirely) would have no effect, unless I press CONSOLE at least once. This is a minor bug though.

Since (expect for this thread) I've never heard complaints about the view buttons - what are your experiences with fresh X1 projects (aka "open>new project") and the view buttons?

Its been a long time since Ive really sat with X1 for a long period and its no longer on the system but today I did find that I have to have PRV Track and Console all docked to make sure I can change screens as much as I want.

If I have them as floating windows so I can have them maxed then every time I change to Console or PRV it will not hold the size I had it at.

Not a Problem I can use it docked :)

I never used PRV or Console view outside the Multidock. :)
You can max out the Multidock by double-clicking on the title of a docked item (e.g. "Piano Roll").
(At least you can in X1, I'm quite sure it works too in X2.)
