NAMM 2014:  SampleTank 3 will be out in March-April (maybe)

Seriously folks....WHO WANTS TO DO BUSINESS WITH SUCH A COMPANY?

Seriously, would you prefer to do business with a company that releases its software before it's stable?  I'm not trying to be an IK apologist here, but I think Obi needs to be cut a little slack.  He's not the one designing and writing the code.  His tech folks are feeding him overly optimistic projections.

I know from personal experience that one rotten-tomato developer can do something deeply damaging to a project but that is not detected for a great long while.  When the problem finally surfaces, it can set back a project by months.  I'm not saying that's what happened here, but, hey, it's software.  Sometimes these delays happen.  I say to IK, getting it right is more important than getting it out early but not working.

Of course, if after all this time if it has stability issues ... well I wouldn't want to be an IK stockholder.

I SERIOUSLY think that 11 years is FAR MORE then enough time...
no disrespect to you DM...or Obi...

Obi is just the messenger...and he knows that we know that...

This is a company that has repeatedly lied and misled the customers of this product(s)
I've been around far too long to not know that...

So how long do we continue to let them bilk us and milk us?

End of story...bye bye...

Alas poor cclarry, I knew him well.

He's gone....
(until someone else posts something witty or bitter or in defense of IK)

Which sounds much safer than where IK has their head...

To clear up a few things in this thread:

1 - We have not set a final price, we didn't publish that price. It did not cover the limited time upgrade price for early adopters either.
2 - We will never let SampleTank die. iOS alone proves we are pushing the limits of it and will continue generating new sound content. We will do this across multiple platforms and continue pushing the limits of music technology.

One would thank that after such a protracted period of time and all of the endless criticism IK has gotten, they would have had the price set when finally unveiling ST3. But instead it's more of the same mystery. Maybe they want to tweet a digit a week leading up to the release. I find IK so baffling on so many levels.

Maybe you could clear this up for me:
Why would IK management not already know what the final map is going to be?
Why would IK management not already know what the two tiers of upgrade prices are going to be? (I'm not talking about what determines each tier but what the price will be for each tier)
Why will IK management not give this information to their Customers who have been waiting for years for this upgrade?

I guess I should remind you of how many earlier release dates have been given and missed but I would hope if I was giving people a release date I would make damn sure I knew what I was going to charge for the product.

Nothing against you Obi but I really am disappointed in the way IK has handled this and it appears that it is either a lack of competence or dishonesty.
