To clear up a few things in this thread:

1 - We have not set a final price, we didn't publish that price. It did not cover the limited time upgrade price for early adopters either.
2 - We will never let SampleTank die. iOS alone proves we are pushing the limits of it and will continue generating new sound content. We will do this across multiple platforms and continue pushing the limits of music technology.

Maybe you could clear this up for me:
Why would IK management not already know what the final map is going to be?
Why would IK management not already know what the two tiers of upgrade prices are going to be? (I'm not talking about what determines each tier but what the price will be for each tier)
Why will IK management not give this information to their Customers who have been waiting for years for this upgrade?

I guess I should remind you of how many earlier release dates have been given and missed but I would hope if I was giving people a release date I would make damn sure I knew what I was going to charge for the product.

Nothing against you Obi but I really am disappointed in the way IK has handled this and it appears that it is either a lack of competence or dishonesty.

There is no dishonesty in not knowing right now. We have been working on this for years. All we have been focused on is the sound. Then the workflow and GUI. Now we are getting closed to finishing with many revisions along the way.

There are still details in the works that need to be finalized. After management are 100% on everything we will make the official announcements and release date. I'm told what I know at that specific time. Things change. All of time. We have had versions ready and decided to implement new features along the way, have new ideas right before we were "finished" and still are wrapping up final details. We rather work at our own pace and make sure we are happy with what we are releasing. We are very close to that and I believe after it is released a lot of this will make sense.

To every stakeholder at IK, but probably not your (past?) loyal customers.

Ok but,

Your Customers have been wanting something that is native 64bit with a more readable GUI. Why not give them that first and then add the new features, they may or may not want, Later? At some point the adding new features have to stop or you will Never release the product.

What I read above this has been possible for a while but IK chose to go their way instead of pleasing their Customers. I call it beyond arrogant and a slap in their Customers faces.

Good luck and Thank you for responding.

Kind regards,
Rick

We don't mean to come across like that, sorry if you feel that way.

While it may have been possible, it doesn't mean the software was stable or ready. Not to mention testing, which is what we are doing now and of course new formats have come out since we started working on it. We aren't going to push something without us feeling it is ready. With all that said, we are in the final stages of development and it should be out soon. We'll have more details on that and a few other things soon.

Obi,

Thanks again for your sincere reply. You did not have to reply at all but you did.

I still can't help feeling like the 'Final Countdown' hype should have been called the 'Final Curtain'...

Yes...2 to be exact...out of 11...last year and the first month of this one...pretty sad statement if you ask me...
from a pretty sad company...with a pretty sad track record.  Sorry you work there Obi...

Go iCrapps!!!  You can buy ST for iOS for $9.99...but ST 3 for the PC will be $300.00...that's reasonable...
and fair....and the upgrade will be $199, with an intro price of $198...and I just saw a pig fly by my window...
(Jampoints MAY NOT be used for this promotion - or ANY other for that matter)
