'Biblical' rain has been pouring for about 18 hours now, and still chucking it down.

Went out early this morning to bring the ponies in from the fields at my wife's stable yard. Glad we did, those fields have now disappeared under water.

Our nearest neighbours have a river running through the garden, and it's risen about 10 feet, covered the garden and is now lapping around the house. They've got flood gates up, but I fear they won't be enough. They've just finished getting the place back together after the last flood 18 months ago..the excess on their house insurance is £50K..

I'm glad to live on a little hill.

The nearest little town (Newton Stewart) is absolute mayhem, the River Cree runs through it and is about to burst it's banks. Police and fire brigade sandbagging everything they can.

Good video here;

Yeah, here too. Again. More tomorrow too, hooray. The neighbour's flood gates held out, the water was an inch away from going over them though.

Man, I'm sick of this. Gimme some sun. Actually, daylight would do.
