After living thru the shortest day of the year... we have now gained a whole 2 minutes of glorious sun shine, giving us 3hrs & 43min of daylight. YIPEEE! I'm between latitude 64 & 65. Those above the Arctic Circle are still in the dark, poor chaps.

Wow Soens. Where are you? ...oh never mind , I see you're standing out in left field.

People there must have learned to cope long ago. Probably dificult sometimes. The guys selling heaters ,bedding and flashlights are probably making out well.

I always breathe a sigh of relief when the 21st is past. Heading back to the light...

Hi,

I keep thinking that guy just took his first hit of acid!

And having fun on it, too!

This time of year you can literally see the sun moving across the sky. It never rises more than about 6 inches off the horizon... at least that's how it looks when you stand facing the sun holding a ruler in an outstretched arm.

Whenever I check the weather online that gold band in the middle of the graph shrinks smaller and smaller. A perfect representation of just how little sun we get in winter.

6 months from now that little "band of gold" will cover 95% of the graph... tho that's little comfort now!

Meanwhile, here in Cairns, Qld Australia, we've had a nice bit of light rain. Temp around 28C...need to take my shirt of soon. Sun is quite hot when it comes out and I need to stay inside and make some more music.
