Not a problem, and I bought Komplete 9 recently just for that reason. I was tired of all the problems I was having with Play and so decided to try something else. Also, I still have a license for Colossus, which is Goliaths predecessor, and I can use that in Kontakt which is nice. In general the collection has some very nice instruments, not as good as what you get from East-West in some cases, but still good. For me, not having to mess around all the time making sure that there's no popster clicks in my export is quite worth it.
Basically with Play I would only recommend it to someone that already has a decent collection of samples and want something else to try. It may well be the you'd have no problems, but it certainly isn't the kind of thing you would want to get as your first major sample set because you very well might. Maybe someday East-West will get around to fixing Play and making it truly work well, but not so far.
Also there's the issue that it doesn't support really any editing of any kind. All the NI stuff supports heavy editing of instruments including sample mapping. Play only allows you to very basic controls, there's no ability to dig deeper if you need to. They've been promising Play Pro for years and years now, but there's been no movement on it. So as it stands there's no editing, and no certainty if we will ever be able to.
