Larry - I'm the guy you sold the Platinum bundle to.

No matter how much you get me to spend on other stuff (and you will), you are forever my friend. :)

Hi, my names Larry and I have COPD (Chronic Obsessive Plugin Disorder).
Alas, I'm am probably the guiltiest for finding and posting the CRAZIEST best deals around.

...Luckily I was able to resist the Vegas deal but what's next?...

Not me...I'd been on the fence regarding Vegas for years. Thanks to Larry I picked it up at an incredibly price. Thanks Larry!

Can't control the GAS? Call a physician! :P

I loath technology in the sense that it can take control of lives and warp ones mind, rather than one having the will and experience to control it --- it's what one can do creatively and with the tools they already have. I prefer to simplify my life, I will NOT be assimilated. .  .  {resistance is futile} .  .  aww shut up!!! :P

The problem isn't the lack of self discipline that leads to software buying sprees. That's just a symptom, and you will never succeed in solving problems by attacking symptoms.

The root issue is that you lack the funding to exercise your addiction to its fullest potential.

You need to get out there and make some money so you can buy some more plugins.

Chop chop.

My only lifelong 'addiction' is for the love of music (art), my wife and family, I have more than enough money, and therefore I totally refuse to selfishly and needlessly waste any money on music related gear.

* In General: not directed at you or anyone else here:
In relation to above said post's'. . . A lot of writers/musicians are never satisfied with what they have, always whinging as an excuse for their lack of creativity and studio knowledge / experience (or simply not naturally suited to this sort of endeavor) --- also not willing to try harder, always looking for loopy shortcuts (laziness) --- if not for challenges you cannot hone your skills greatly. If you can't stand the heat? Chop Chop --- Get out of the kitchen --- try basket weaving instead :P

So true.
This all started with the Creative Keytar included with a Soundblaster Live!5.1. I had gotten my daughter a Radio Shack keyboard that had a MIDI output. What is that, we wondered. So we tracked down a MIDI /joystick cable.
Hooked it up and..Oh, how cool is that!. But wait. There's surely more to this. So, down to the music store, and back home with a shiny new box of Sonar Home Studio 4. OMG. I'll never forget the first time I saw that screen open up on my monitor.
It's all second nature now. I have a room full of equipment, VST's I don't even remember, and friends all over the world.
And I still check the Software forum to see what's new.
Larry, you're a bad influence.
Whatcha got?

If you observe closely the structure and semantics of my post, you might discover a thing.

Perhaps a couple of them.

Perhaps none.

I'm sorry, it's unfortunate that you misunderstood;

I was simply expressing 'my own opinion' and clearly stated; not directed at you or anyone one else here.  My contribution is also an 'addition to the topic' based on actual facts along with good advise. Hey I don't expect everybody to have the same discipline and control of G.A.S. ;-)

That said: Just because others disagree with you or prefer to avoid your comments completely; does not mean you can risk violating the TOS by posting snide remarks. I hope you understand, keep the peace and move on. Thanks. :-)
