I receive my Arc2 today and am testing it out. I took 16 measurements around my listening position and the results below. It seems to have removed a lot of bottom end. I'm sure I'm measuring correctly. Also I assume when you export you turn off Arc. For example with Arc on I eq the bass guitar and it sounds good, not too bottom. I turn off Arc and the bass is boomy. I though this software is suppose to make what you hear a truer sound of the source? All suggestion are appreciated.

Wow! That's a long post! I just got my ARC2 today as well.  My room had a null (I guess) at around 30 to 50hz give or take and some build up around 120 - 300hz or so. I put it on my latest song and it sound like crap. After a while remixing I can tell there is much more clarity now and it still sounds good (maybe better) with headphones.

I have mine set up where I have a send from the Master going to a dedicated headphone bus. My Master bus does not have ARC on it. I put that on my Main Outs (audio interface outs separate from the headphone out. I don't have to worry about turning ARC off for mixdown, export or headphone listening.

ARC is intended to correct the deficiencies in the room (while you are mixing). If your room is boomy then with ARC off, which yes you turn off for export, the will sound boomy. But remember that is your room your hearing (with ARC off).

So the real test is to take your mix to other environments and see how the mix translates. If for example your mixes sound better in the car (assuing you don't the rappers delight sound system in your car) than before you mixes with ARC you can be sure ARC helped you to make a better mix.

In my room which is pretty boomy, ARC definitely helps to control that boominess whale listening through the speakers.

I'm sure you know thi but NEVER listen with your headphones thru ARC. It will sound so wrong.

HTH.

Put another way, if your room is boomy and you've (before ARC) compensated by thinning out the bass but in other environments it seems like you have no bass, then ARC is showing why you've been compensating wrongly in the past.

Don't  know if this will work, but this is my Frequency plot FWIW.

Edit: It didn't. I'll have to work on that.

Interesting. Looks fairly similar from 1 to 2. Does one sound very different from the other? I seem to remember Danny Danzi saying ARC2 sounded almost too good and he kind of preferred ARC1 at when ARC2 first came out.

i find ARC 2 more precise , and feature wise it's worth of it ...the thing is that i also changed monitors when i went from Arc 1 to 2

But all i can say is that ARC is by far one of the best investement i did those last years
