Hi,
From another board from me!
...
We can take stock answers and say a rock audience is rowdy, a jazz audience is drunk, and a classical music audience does good mannequin impressions! In that sense, "calmer" might suggest that we are better listeners of music, and slightly less excited or prone to get an erection, like you can with rock music and the right impression! And spend our time arguing about it, instead of having sex! There you have it ... the difference between 20 or 30 years!
And later...
I think that it meant the testosterone was long gone, and that we already had to visit the local urologist, or rapist, a time or two! But I was thinking, that if you can't get excited (ie, get an erection) when you hear Renata Tebaldi take on Birgit Nilson, or when Maria Callas orgasms in Carmen, that you are obviously not listening to the work at all! I always thought that even the long pieces by Keith Jarrett were great in the background for sex, and fun, that you could even choreograph yourself to if you felt like goofing around! You just don't know how good the Koln Concert double LP was ... hmmmm .... it was! Ohhhh wait ... we only do 4 or 5 minute cuts! We don't know orgasms after the sploosh!
