It rates a 10 in my "hey, now it doesn't suck anymore" tests:-)

I definitely need steps to reproduce this ;) Then I could sell it :)

I don't care if Nomad calls it a reverse entropy machine that also slices and dices AND keeps your wifey happy...Cosmos sounds fab and puts the "good" on most anything ya try it on.  It rates a 10 in my "hey, now it doesn't suck anymore" tests:-)

Point #1: don't care what it's called. Agreed, mostly. That which we call a rose would smell as sweet by any other name. Unless you're trying to sell roses and insist on advertising them as "cheese straighteners".

Point #2: sounds good on anything. Hmm, I'd have to say that it ranges from pretty good to pretty awful, depending on the material. This is true of any effect plugin - it helps only to the extent that whatever it adds is something that would otherwise be lacking. This is (or should be) self-evident, but I still read a lot of illogical "this improves everything" claims for various plugins.

Point #3: perfect track record of removing suckiness. Repeat of point #2, so I have to disagree again. In my experience it's been beneficial in perhaps one out of ten tracks I've tried it on. But to be fair, I've yet to test it with triangles, bongos, zithers or bagpipes.

I'm interested to hear what this exciter sounds like - discovered one of the effects in the MU80 tone generator I picked up is just that - the Aphex Aural Exciter...
