Greetings forum folk,

i'm working on a patch librarian for my lovely Jv 1010 and I'm looking to check my understanding of the temporary storage.
From what I can see, if the unit receives a patch or performance change then the settings are moved to temporary. I've got the SysEx working to change data here. Once the editing is complete, can you save the Temp changes to user memory - with midi - or do you have to duplicate the changes yourself ?

Am I following the right course and is my thinking at all correct ?

If it is like any other Roland Synth whether keyboard or sound module box, there are so many places that you can store the changed patch (or performance if it allows that) (and that is editing the patch or performance). But storing it with midi I do not know, usually what I have done is when I change a patch (usually by editing right on the unit) then I can store it in one of the User Area for storing a patch or Performance Setting. I don't think you can change anything via midi, you just sound like you are changing what patch gets used or performance patch gets used. If you are changing the patch or performance then the User Area is where you store it by using the menu on the unit its self. If you do not have a manual I would look around for one and download it. http://www.vintagesynth.com/roland/jv1010.php
