Hmm, I'm feeling dumb struck.
 
My Komplete 9 Ultimate update arrived today, just finished the install and I can't activate it.
 
This is an "Update" version for K8-Ultimate to K9- Ultimate.
 
Is there anything I've missed ?.
I can't find any serial number anywhere, and when the NI service center runs it wants a serial number ?.
 
Any hints greatly appreciated.

For the regular Komplete update it was on the packaging.
IIRC the box or DVDs

If I remember correctly you should be able to see all your activation codes in your Native Instruments account. Login to their website. :)

I had a drink, checked all the packaging again ... zip, nada.
 
SO I had another drink, logged on and checked the serial numbers, and ahoy, they only show for the products you have registered, and of course ... it's not activated yet :-).
 
SO ... one more drink and a support ticket later, you'd be surprised how many times I had to retype this to correct all the mistakes.
 
And still zip, think I need a smoke !
 
I'll keep ya posted in the new year.

Did you check on the inside cover or pages of the handbook for the upgrade serial number  - one of my past upgrades had it there or also I think perhaps a bar code type of thing somewhere on the outer box (that's a guess!!)

there was absolutely nothing in the box other than the drive and the cable.
 
Usually the serial number has been on the "Setup Guide", which has been a nice quality printed manual, A5 sized.
No such thing in the box this time, which makes me think it wasn't packaged properly and it's missing.
 
I've checked all the packaging a hundred times or more now, and finally convinced myself that NI have stuffed up this one :-)
Every other time has been drop dead simple - Setup guide with serial number sticker on it.
 
I definitely didn't throw anything out, there's just some paper work - Invoice, packing slip, that's it and no serial on any of those.
 
Never mind ... I'm sure we'll get it sorted in the next couple of weeks.
Just would have been nice to have it installed and activated yesterday :-)

RDFQ - Did you look on the bottom of the drive? That's where my Komplete 8 serial was located.

I did, I did, and just did again, it still hasn't appeared on the drive.
I was hoping it would appear now that I'm sober ... but nah, still says "Made in China", NI won't accept it.
 
I've pulled the box apart dozens of times now, only two things in it ... the drive, and cable.
I suspect it's supposed to have a setup guide with the serial on or in it.
That's how it was for both Komplete 7 and the 8-ultimate update - they could have changed it though.
 
Time for another coffee before I have another look :-)

My K9U serial number came in very fine print on the lower back of a 5.5inchx7inch glossy page.  The front glossy page said "KOMPLETE 9 ULTIMATE" with the words "Setup Information" on the lower front.  On the back were online links to documentation in English, German and other languages.  At the bottom of that back page is a phrase:  YOUR SERIAL NUMBER.  Under taht phrase is a small sticker with fine print that says:
 
Komplete 9 Ultimate 
Serial No:
xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx
