Guys,

Maybe an apollogist for IK, but the Black Friday $99 for the total suite was mind blowing. Amplitube 3, all the Romplers, reverb, expansion paks. If I didn't already own these for hundreds of dollars over the years, a no brainer for a new admit.

Granted some of the samples in the Romplers are not 20-20000K. Not 64 bit yet, but the layout, workflow of the synths allows layering to professional standards if you don't require the intricite scripting in Kontakt.

If they got another Christmas/NewYear sale for $99, and you don't got the IK suite already, jump on it. Can't get a better bang for the Yen anywhere else IMHO.

What next?? That instruments will have...gasp...different articulations?? That samples will have "velocity sensitivity"??? That there will be a "legato" mode???

Sorry... Don't wish to make those anxiously awaiting S3's arrival heads explode.

how underwhelming - lets hope they're keeping the good bits secret until nearer the ilaunch date - you know, by the official launch in 2016 it may EVEN have the different iticulations Yoropal lusts after........................

Just dug out the old Facebook page on sampling for ST3 https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150301378600147&type=3&l=7cc844125f

That was posted more than 3 years ago, so it's hardly any wonder people are cynical.

I am sure they will produce a decent bread & butter factory library but for those of us who have invested heavily in Kontakt (or Mach 5) libraries will there be anything to get excited about?

I checked out that thread and found something amusing. The IKM reps keep using phrases like "I'm told", when reporting a feature of the new product. That's the funny part because anyone talking on social media, about a product they represent, should only deal in first hand knowledge.

I'm told Cakewalk will be releasing an X3d patch. It's going to address bugs and focus on specific graphics issues; or so I'm told. It should be out very soon but the clever bakers will not release it before it's just perfect. It will change everything and be backwards compatible with Sonar X1d; or so I'm told.

If that's true I think somewhere in IK iLand you will hear a "KAPOW" "Ow, my foot"...  I didn't realize that iCrap is 64bit.
