Hi Chuck -

Could I open the presonus EQ in sonar? Could I open the VX-64 vocal strip in a studio one session if I had both? << As cclarry said, it depends. I don't think the S1 EQ is exposed as an external VST, and that's the only way it work in SONAR - as a 3rd party plug. It doesn't show up for me.

I know S1 has it's architecture set up so when you have a project and export a wave, then open a mastering project with that wave file, if you go back and change the mix (and I would assume wave file) it will automatically open the new revised version when you reopen that mastering project. If I was mixing in sonar and mastering in studio one... would it still do that? Just curious.<<
Studio One does not know how to tell SONAR to open, or even which project to open, so, No, it won't do that. However, as someone who tracks in SONAR and masters in Studio One, I gotta tell you that this is hardly a deal breaker. Here's my workflow:
- Bounce 24-bit mixes in SONAR into a specific directory;
- Open Studio One project page and import the 24-bit wave files for each song;
- arrange and apply per-track and per-project mastering effects;
- notice a mix problem;
- Close Studio One and open SONAR with the appropriate song project;
- fix the problem and re-bounce (using the same file name!) into the specific directory;
- close SONAR
- open Studio One and the project: Studio One recognises the file has changed and reloads that WAV. It's transparent.
This worked well for me. You can
hear the results if you're interested.
I hope that helps.
