- Panning Explained (Kenny Gioia)
One whole series (1.5 hour) is dedicated to panning itself, really good info, with interesting music to keep my focus. And when you though it's done.. there is one more section on LCR Mixing and Panning (hard left, right, center only mix) to complete it.

- Tracking and Mixing (Tony Shepperd)
The approach is very interesting, with lots of efforts went into showing actual miking tasks and running about in the studio, etc.. keeping me glued on the screen.

Glad to have signed up for the yearly pass!

Thanks for the heads up. I generally like all of Kenny's videos there. Haven't seen Tony's yet though.

Tony is a good buddy of mine.  Nicest dude you will ever meet.

I love the part where he describes his mic chain:  a vintage AKG 312 CR, Neve mic pre and a UA 1176

like everyone has that kind of gear hanging around  :)

Things I've learned from Tony:
uses a lot of vintage tube mics and mic pres;
only works with triple scale musicians
everyone goes through auto-tune (or similar)  even the big names you wouldn't think need it.
depending on the genre, loves mixing down to 30 ips half-inch reel then back to digital.

Right now he's starting his own record company:  Breath of Life Records
with Shelea Frazier (the vocalist in the videos) as the first artist.
