That's a nice collection.  I got them free with a Korg mini controller.

If you buy the M1 or wavestation plugins check the Korg forum for a link to sounds.  there is a zip file with tons of sound banks that used to be paid for sound products (3rd party sound makers out of business now).  I think I have over 6000 sounds now for the Korg plugins, lots very useful.

all those sounds can be sysex to the hardware versions of M1 and wavestation if you have the hardware.

I just grabbed M1 too.
I picked up the WS a while ago, so this makes a good pair!

I've been haggling with a friend over the sale price of his M1 workstation. I picked up the software version for $34.95 today. He shouldn't have been so greedy. The SW version sounds great and is 100 times easier to edit.

I have invoked the santa clause twice today.

even back in the day , most folk I know only used their m1 sparingly to transmit midi or control something else, mainly a sampler... can't see how you can compare like for like.. as it's a decent built keyboard.. just not loads of bells / whistles

I have a hardware M1R and  WaveStation  - but I also have the Korg Collection - I think when I compare the hardware to the software, I always tell myself I can hear a difference - but truth be told the software is SO GOOD there are probably no differences - perhaps I'm just a kid and love playing with buttons and sliders..............................

The buttons crapped out on my hardware M-1 years ago. I never looked back in buying the software version of it. If you remember the cost of the extra sound set cards back then, you know what a deal it is to have all of those included on the M-1.

I always thought many of the sounds in that keyboard were a little washy in reverb but that can be changed in the FX settings, it was all in 16bit but I can't really hear a difference in a mix most of the time. As a multi it's tough to beat on a computer compared to something like Kontakt that might strain some computers with heavy mutis. It works light and sounds good.
