I was watching an Omnisphere tutorial and Eric Persing himself made a guest appearance, stating the some exciting things were coming in 2014.  I presume will include a successor to or a major upgrade to Omnisphere.

Also, Camel Audio has long been talking about an Alchemy 2.0, which will probably enjoy a 2014 release date.  And then there's Zebra 3.0 from u-he, also expected in 2014.

Let's see ... Kontakt didn't get any major upgrades in the last Komplete upgrade, did it?  So, probably that's going to happen as well.

Start saving your pennies.  I don't know about you, but I certainly won't be able to say no to any of these.  And I'm probably leaving something else major out of the list.

The Maillard Reaction
I finally got the third piece of this trio last week.

I ordered them last May.

It's hard to explain how much fun it has been to hook them all up and jam some beats.

The Maillard Reaction
Hi Mike,
The picture is of the Korg Volca "Bundle" which is a collection of three recently introduced analog synths. They have a drum machine, a bass box and a polyphonic synth. They sync in time with a daisy chain. I've got them going into a small mixer and I am having a blast tapping out patterns and twisting knobs and listening to stuff happen.

They were announced last year and vendors started doing preorders in May 2013. The delivery date was thought to be July but the demand was so intense that most USA customers did not get theirs until November.

I didn't actually mean to stomp on David's "software" post but when I saw "2014 Looking To Be a Banner Year for High-end Synth Upgrades" I blurted it out like a little kid because I am so excited to think that more and more companies are going to be reacting to a pent up demand for fun synths that respond with immediacy. I am hoping that the 2014 shows introduce more of this stuff.

all the best and Happy Holidays,
mike

Yeah, but will it qualify for the "high-end" designation?  Presumably we'll find out in another month or so ... or will we?

"high-end" Yes but,
My guess is the "high" part will be the cost, the "end" is where those of us who purchase will get it.
