With the extra holiday incentive I decided to give one a try.  I chose the Chocolate Cake Jazz Sticks set.  After early testing around I think it has some nice tones.  I especially like the rides, bell, and crash sounds.

Admittedly I didn't do anything but listen to the you tube videos...BUT...nary a one of them had even a smidgen of WOW factor to me. Too much verb on most of the demos as well. At $30 semolians per I don't think so. YMMV.

I may just have enough drums.

Blasphemy I know, but there I said it.

The video demo is so poor that it is not possible to make an informed decision.  They kits can't sound as bad as the video portrays them.  While I am not in the market for more drums, I am looking for something to use my $20 discount on.  Can;t find anything.  I could get the CA-2a but alread have the prochannel version and don;t really need it as a vst.

Anyone got a link to a youtube or clound source to show how the Chocolate drums actually sound?

Remember the CA-2A fixes some bugs in the PC-2A, adds sidechain to the PC module in addition to including the plug-in VST2 and VST3 format.

cecelius2 - that's why I made the comment. I splurged my holiday20 discount on one Chocolate Cake kit just to hear what it was like. It was practically free after the pile on of discounts.

It sounds pretty good. I've always liked some of the clearness in tone of the Session Drummer 3 kits. The Jazz Sticks one I got sounds really pretty nice and I especially like the cymbals.

So to answer naysayers, the kits are decent and probably worth a goodly amount. I only was attracted to trying one at the super discount rate and I'm glad I did.
