Just wanted to know what you guys think about its sound...I am liking the Nashville drum sounds, particulairy the hi-hat, ride and the cymbal-sound. Not too sure about the snare.

Of course its lack of control and diversity makes them not the go-to-drums, but for sketching I guess it is not too bad...what you do think about them?

I mostly use the Swing type Realdrums - if they are the same kit.. I think out of the box, the cymbals and hi-hat sound a little bright and need to EQ down a bit. The snare is fine, but the dynamics may need some compression, I too use it for sketching and demos.

I've yet to try this, as I don't have Melodyne yet - I've heard you can use Melodyne it to extract drums part to midi and use a replacement library sound (BFD etc..) - that would be a great option if possible.

you are right, I could try to do this...I finally need to get started with the Melodyne I have (I even upgraded to Melodyne Editor because I just can't resist a good offer...if though I have not used it yet )

Yes you can take a RealDrum part and extract it to a MIDI part with Melodyn Editor. Just be sure that your drums are loud with no added effects and the Editor is set to polyphonic.
Good luck
