The trouble with Thanksgiving is by Christmas I look like my avatar. Not that it's a bad thing but turns into much work to get back to normal by spring. Speaking of normal, I saw a very large and pretty Christmas tree in Miss Sandra's neighbor's yard. It was about 20 ft. tall a beautifully lighted. It stands alone so that everyone from the hiway can see it. Very nice! I love traveling during the holidays.

Welcome back, Bill.  Was your Thanksgiving as good as you were expecting?  I don't suppose your van down by the river has a chimney for Santa to slide on down and leave you any gifts.  Do you have a work-around?

He might get coal thrown into a window if he's been bad...

It's OK as long as Santa isn't aiming at Bill!

I usually receive a lump of coal, but every year it gets a little nicer.  Some day, I'll have enough to fill the BBQ.

Welcome back among the living, Bill!

Speaking of Normal vs Christmas...

My wife had a deal on big black christmas tree in October, so she ordered it. It arrived on our doorstep on November 4th IIRC.

So we immediately unpacked it and put it together in the living room w/o ever thinking whether it may or may not be too early. It seemed perfectly normal to us. I mean, what else do you do with a Christmas tree?

The crappy pic doesn't really do it justice, but anyway...

Our friends seemed to think it was relatively strange, but what the heck...

In the end - is that really weirder than Christmas light around a palm tree or Santa's sleigh on green grass?

I listen to Elvis' Christmas record all the time, anyway...

Did I mention it was black?

So your wife's either very short, the tree's very tall or both, eh?

That looks like a really nice room!

Knowing your penchant for black, the tree isn't that surprising that you'd get one.  What is a little surprising is that someone sells one.  Is it from the Black Forest in Germany?

Wow, nice digs man. More space in that room than my entire apartment. What do the cats do with a tree like that? Mine would have it on the ground by now.
