We're currently in the direct path of the winter storm that's moving across the country and are all stocked up with plenty of grub and libations to make it thru. There's a great likelyhood, since this is an ice storm, that we'll lose power. So...should I simply abruptly get cut off in mid post you'll know what happened. When we lose power the only thing that still functions are our cell phones.

I'll keep ya posted. Only I can't type worth a flip on that damn cell phone.

Yep.  We're about to get hit as well.  It never did get above freezing today, but there wasn't any moisture...  Friday and Saturday are going to be a different story.  Probably snow and the highs are expected to be in the low 20's (degrees F) or even into the teens.  The lows?  Well, single digits there.  Add to that a strong east wind and wind chills are expected to get down to -20 degrees F.!

Brrr!!!

It's here, Olpal.  The rungs of my ladder were already caked with ice around 5PM. That last climb was a wee bit scary.
As I was driving home this evening, most of the bridged I crossed had already collected some souvenirs. We're expecting a 1/2" of ice on the roads by tomorrow, and I have to work.
I filled my door locks and wiped down the weatherstrip with WD40, so I'll at least be able to get into my van in the morning. I've covered the windshield with cardboard. My wife's car is already caked with 1/4" of ice.
And I scared up some latex gloves to keep my hands dry. Sometimes working outdoors makes you question your sanity.
Fun times ahead.

Moved in fast too. Dropped from 80°F to high of 36 in one day....and dropping still.

Prettiest thing I've ever seen was a morning I looked outside into an ice storm. First one
I'd seen and wasn't that many years ago.
