I don't remember Console integration for arming layers in 8.5.3. Perhaps the take lanes haven't got that implementation yet. I'll have to look at it and see.

Nope, still waiting a bit for the dust to settle.

Haven't worked with layers for quite a long time though, that's why I don't remember. Gotta check out too tomorrow.

So, when you arm a take lane, does show armed in the track associated? I'm wondering if having a take lane open gives it pre dominance when selected and arming will show as it does in the track on the V 700C. It is after all a take of that track. No instructions as to using Shift, Cntrl, Alt, etc.? How did we used to arm layers?

I would have to double check that I am not in front of it right now. I have never worked with layers until now.

when you arm a track with take lanes on the 700c, the "main" track gets armed. there no way of arming a take lane from the 700c (yet?...)
in x1 we didn't have arm for the different layers

you can only arm a take lane with the mouse and when doing this the record button on the main track also lit up, which also shows on the 700c.

We'll have to put in a Tech support request. I took a look to refresh my memory.
Layers operated automatically once you turned them on. Arm the track to record, it goes right to a new layer. Solo a layer and other layers will mute. Add a layer, delete a layer, rebuild layers-which reorganizes them. I 'd bet take lanes operate the same way. No? Is there an arm to record button, a solo button, a mute button, in the individual take lanes?

On the V700C, shift + the tracks button enables layers on the selected track. Same with Take Lanes?
