I currently have 65.  Some of those I have more than one version of (e.g., original & remaster or reissue), some I have as part of a larger box set (the lazy way to get multiple albums), some are still on my "wish list" and a few fall into the "Who the heck wants this crap???" category (like Jay-Z).

Oh yeah, and a few I had forgotten about or had never heard of (and will need to check out).  Thanks for posting this Steve!

Wot...no 'Half Man Half Biscuit'?

I only have 13 of those listed. *shrugs*

Midnight Oil ..does anyone remember more than one song off that album?

Oh yeah, naturally I've got quite a few that I prefer better than those listed, but I don't know where to begin listing them!  They fall in many genres like Prog (example: Tangerine Dream - Melrose), Classic Rock (example: Cars - Cars), Corporate Rock (example: Boston - Don't Look Back), Pop (example: Madonna - Madonna), Jazz (example: Rippingtons - Tourist In Paradise), Underground (Lords of Acid - Lust), Synthpop (example: Pet Shop Boys - Please), New Wave (example: Psychedelic Furs - Mirror Moves), Industrial (example: Machines of Loving Grace - Concentration), Gothic Rock (examples: Cure - Disintegration or Sisters of Mercy - Floodland), New Age (examples: Richard Burmer - On the Third Extreme or Enya - Shepherd Moons), Piano Rock (example: Tori Amos - From the Choir Girl Hotel), Soul (example: Sade - Diamond Life), Art Rock (example: Roxy Music - Avalon), Heavy Metal (example: Ratt - Out of the Cellar), Hard Rock (example: Toys In the Attic), Metal (examples: Metalica - Black Album, Accept - Balls to the Wall & Restless and Wild, several from Iron Maiden and Judas Priest), etc., etc.!

Nothing from Peter Gabriel..I'd put PG4 ('Security')and 'So' in my top 100. No Tull..'Stand Up' I think. No Steely Dan 'The Royal Scam' should be in there. Plus Marc Cohn's debut.

Jame-Z - orf to bed with you now, it must be very late oop there in the land of the haggis munchers.

Plus, being so close to the Arctic Circle must mean your tootsies are always freezing. Crack open the 20 year-old malt and throw another set of bagpipes on the fire if you'd be so good old bean.

I'll wager at this time of the year it gets dark up there before noon don't it? Still, once you get the electricity and town gas you'll be fine

We usually look out for 'greylight' around 11am, which is closely followed by 'doom' at 11.10.

Still, could be worse.

Could be in Bromsgrove.

"Midnight Oil ..does anyone remember more than one song off that album?"

that's why these lists are so variable.
is the criteria album sales or the authors(basically, Rolling Stone) pick?
This album was also highly critical of the politics of the day, particularly with the struggle to recognise and reconcile with the original inhabitants and to be an Oils fan was a political statement in itself and it`s position may reflect it`s cultural significance rather than it`s worldwide sales?

I might put Aja above Royal Scam even.  A great CD to take when you're setting up sound and want to compare with a known source.

I just don't think you can quantify the "Top 100" like they're trying to.  Even an attempt broken out by genre would be daunting.

Nothing by Genesis?  Nothing by Supertramp?  Nothing by Yes?  Nothing by Muse?  Nothing by Grateful Dead?  I could go on.

And yet we have an Oasis album?

Just ignore this type of ridiculous crap!  It's guaranteed to elevate your blood pressure to an unhealthy level.
