I counted 20 - at a glance. You can't seriously have a Greatest Albums list and not start it with the Elvis Christmas album - that's heresy! :P
Some aren't my favorite albums by these artists, i.e, I'd pick Electric Ladyland before Are You Experienced. But I guess that they factor in the "breakthrough" element.
Lots of stuff I have no interest in but can conceive that they'd be on such a list - I know Bob Dylan is great, I just don't need or like to listen to him. I can't conceive waking up one morning and going: wow, I really feel like listening to Bob Dylan
singing for an hour... But it makes sense.
Others I can't stand (Arcade Fire? Really?!) and don't think they belong on any such list.
Plenty are missing - Tool, Depeche Mode, Alice Cooper, The Cure, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Kiss, Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, Ozzy Osbourne, Van Halen - to name a few. They'd all have at least one or two albums in my top 100, way before Pearl Jam or Jay Z or, Kanye West...
Boooooooo Kanye, boooooo, booooo Kanye West....
