While I'm still a little skittish that it might have stability issues, it sounds just damn amazing. It is by far the coolest drum program I've ever used. The biggest thing is just the sound. It sounds and plays fantastic just as is. No tweaking needed, no faffing about. A lot of other high quality drums I've seen have had real issues with things like uneven velocity mapping and so on. Not here, it all sounds great, just as is.

I am also just loving the interface, with regards to tweaking and kit building. I like that you can have a really massive kit. None of this sissy "Oh this thing has a whole FOUR toms!" stuff. No, none of that. 6 toms, 2 basses, 3 snares, a bajillion cymbals, it is happy with it all. That is one issue I've had with a lot of dedicated drum kit programs I've seen in the past, like XLN, is that they assume you want a normal sized kit. No dammit, I want ALL OF THE DRUMS ALL OF THE TIMES! :D BFD3 seems quite pleased to do that for you.

Really pleased to see you've got it working now after your ermmm, Other BFD3 post
Before the release of BFD3 I had frequently made claims that BFD2 was "arguably" the best drum vst on the market and had a some sharp exchanges of views with a few super drummer fans but remained unmoved.

Now with BFD3 there is no argument for me, it really is the most superior choice.
I'll be interested to see what toontrack have to offer up with superior drummer 3 although there seems to be little if any news on that front.

I agree with Steve completely...

I was a die hard Addictive Drums user (still love it for the quick down and dirty)
but BFD 3....WOW...that's all I can say....I'm sold...that simple..

BFD 3 has certainly raised the bar, out of the box the preset kits sound great but I need to learn a lot more about it to get the best out of it. I know my way around Superior Drummer reasonably well. I like the way Toontrack handles the bleeds, room ambiance, overheads etc. I am sure that can be done as effectively in BFD3. I have got a bunch of videos to watch.

I don't see AD as being any quicker than BFD3 now, in fact I don't see anything being any quicker than BFD3 to be honest, some kits may load a few seconds quicker but actually browsing and selecting kits is quicker than any drum vst I can think of with the new browser. Not that I'm trying to say BFD3 is the quickest, just that's it's very quick and simple to use and a lot less cluttered.

The new kit loader and builder is better than I could envisaged and although I'm more familiar with it than most the UI was redesigned very much with ease of access and the new user in mind.
