And they've add a great upgrade for notation also.   Just sayin'...

Plus the editing options are now added/available in the notation mode/screen. You can edit directly right there if you like, and not have to go in & out of the MIDI key editor if you don't want to.

Or did I just expand on what you've said already?

Fog
handy when you hire the ex-staff of a certain well known notation software... and YEP I hope it crushes the rival that was so quick to dump the staff.

Care to elaborate with some details there Fog?

To me the most intriguing new features are the enhancements to instrument tracks.  The details are a little sketchy, but I think there may be a lot of potential there.  I'm awaiting details with considerable anticipation.

Avid fired the whole Sibelius team in London to rebuild them in Ukraine.   Steinberg quickly hired the whole team to create a new notation app.

Ahh - very interesting. Reminds me of how the 2 designers of Presonus Studio One were previously employed by Steinberg with Cubase, [IIRC].

Kind of like sport teams trading players.

I must admit that among the enhancements & additions, what caught my eye the most is the 'Re-record' that I mentioned above. What a convenient time saver that is, not to mention doing away with 3-4 mouse or keyboard clicks. I know that that may be the least valuable of all new features, but I just think that's very cool.

Seems like the upgrade price may be 49.00 Euros - not completely sure just yet though.

Ok, so for those of us interested in this, the upgrade price from Q7 is $49.99 USD.

I believe it's also 49.99 Euros as well, so this price match is cool because at par, it means paying just $49.99 instead of $68.12, which is what the currency conversion would make it.

Gonna go for it!

Now if only I could get logged on to pay for it.

My guess is that the servers are quite busy.  But no hurry - try again tomorrow.

Cheers Buds!

Late Edit: Even better for us Canadians - $49.99 CAD at http://www.steinbergcanada.ca/

Nice to see it at par & not have to pay that extra dose of exchange rate to the US dollar that we almost always have to do.

Thanks Steinberg!

I like that and the visibility options in the track view.

Yes, I'm thinking I'm gonna like that one quite a bit as well.
It will be so very handy to just show the few tracks we're currently working on and have the rest hidden at any time, saving countless zoom in & outs and scrolling maneuvers.
That means I can leave the tracks at my favorite zoom size, and just move the rest out of the tracks out of the way until needed again.

Too cool!

I like having my MIDI tracks large so that I can use the 'Edit In Place' feature without having to enlarge it or even go to the Key Editor Screen Page if I just want a quick little edit right there. :)

Paid for & got my downloads today. :) :)

2 downloads - one for Cubase 7.5 & another big-ass one for Halion Sonic SE 2.
