Full license is $225. At least compare apples to apples.

225 for commercial, 60 for individual. Left to personal honor defined by how much you are making a year on the program. Don't see any hit records by you or me out there so far. Likely we'll never cross the theshold asking for a 225 commercial license.

Right about apples and apples. Depends on what the need is. I stand corrected. Thanks.

Sweetwater still has it for $499, so I'm not sure why the CW site is more.

Going head to head with your discount big box distributors isn't a good idea, that's why.

Exactly.  $25 more on the company site is about right.

Seems like questionable timing though, what with Cubase 7.5 out just 5 days ago.

Logic would dictate to make it more attractive right now by throwing a sale on, instead of a price increase.
Then for those on the fence between the 2, they may sway some to instead of fro that way.

In the X3 forum there is a new sticky talking about new vendors that offer downloads of Sonar as well as links to worldwide boxed product vendors.  This indicates to me that it is correct to assume the price increase is an attempt to encourage more vendor sales.

Reaper is a VERY good product.

I had to use it for one my recent Classes, and it has a very small footprint, is open source,
so highly customizable, and you can write your own plugins for it...

For $60 for non and $225 for commercial it's a steal...and one of the main reasons (ha ha)
I keep saying these guys are all moving in the wrong price direction...

I use stuff that is classed as sonar's rival as well and the upgrade model isn't 100% good for me.. to make me wait till it's far cheaper.. why would I want to buy a product that is being already patched up to D... and yer you did forget the x2 patches.. so sorry, want me to pay for bug fixes.. I'll take it at a discount (if at all)...

I don't have this issue with the other 2 big vendors I use.. AND one does bug fixes about 1.5 years after release.. cake are too quick with their cut off point and to expect their yearly sub.

The issue is this...if Sonar wants to make any headway against their competition...

Then they should be trying to sell as many as possible by lowering prices...not scaring people into buying
other products by raising prices....that's just common sense...

Which is, obviously, in short supply...
