0.9.7 was released along with the new MIDI Bass 0.1.0 Beta. If you have a license for MIDI Guitar, Jam Origin upgraded the license to include MIDI Bass. If you are thinking about buying MIDI Guitar, Jam Origin is including a free license for MIDI Bass with purchases of MIDI Guitar through the end of the year.

Very cool! I finally got the license for this, but had to do a clean install (Win 8.1 update nightmare) on my SSD. In the process of installing all my software, and midi guitar will be an essential component.......I'm very limited on the keyboard, so I'm depending on this to do the majority of synth work.
I've also had ASIO not working in standalone (Win 8 Pro x64), but I'm more interested in tracking/recording as that's what I'm looking forward to.

Mr. Cook, do you know how this Midi Bass is supposed to work?

It works just like MIDI Guitar. Currently mono only though. I tried it last night in stand alone mode and it definitely is a first release but seems to work. Tried it just now as a VST, it is unusable for me. It is triggering too many notes. Sending Jam Origin a report after this post.

Thanks.
Just from a guitarists perspective, I couldn't figure out the benefit of using Midi Bass........I can already get Bass sounds. I suppose for the Bass players, it might be very useful to be able to play synths.

Yes, it is helpful for bass players. MIDI Guitar does not track bass very well. For now, MIDI Bass does not either. I did notice that X3 is easier to setup. The plug-in scanner gets it right. No need to edit the registry.
