Rain
...I got mine 10 days ago.

Though I'm sure I could order one from some other store. But I really wanted to buy from Sweetwater.

I admit that when I saw the major price drop on the 70s Tribute model last week, with the Dirty Fingers humbuckers, the more traditional finish and fretboard inlays, going for a mere $20 more than I'd paid for the SGJ, for a second I asked myself if it wouldn't have been better.

But considering that the rounded 50s neck w/ a satin finish has a major role in me feeling 100% comfortable playing a SG, I don't. It rocks too much.

I only wish I had another $500 to spare...

Couldn't tell - that one is the 70s studio. Looks awesome but my spider sense tells me that I wouldn't like the neck half as much as the one on mine (those rounded 50's neck are just the right thing for my huge hands).

The beefy '50's neck. Made for heavier gauged strings if desiring that, and not the '60's neck that may hold heavier strings over time but then again just not as strong I know that for sure. Makes me wonder about Fenders then, and yes, I use usually a bit heavier strings but not real heavy ones because to me they stay in tune better and sound better. That is just my opinion though, but on my new guitar, the strings to me have to be changed, they just aren't cutting it from my point of view. Well, that is what I have to do -change strings.

No doubt 2014 models are coming out.

They love pictures, pictures, pictures there!

They love talking about changing pickups, changing capacitors and sometimes re-wiring the entire guitar.
I am not up to that, may never be.

Man... I wish you would STOP!!! I got as far as the picture of this guitar in the thread about Fender/Gibson and went to look at guitars. I've always wanted an SG. I told my wife that as soon as my finger heals... I am getting a new guitar (an SG).. thanks you you, Mr. Enabler! LOL
NICE...

If it can help - this one isn't available anymore from Sweetwater and they're slowly vanishing from other stores as the last ones are sold. Gibson's end of year blowout sale must have been quite a success. The only SGJ they have left are the red one - on order.

Having never bought Gibson before, I wasn't really aware that they had such year end clearance. Or maybe it's something new I don't know.
