I am watching this video ("Meet the Flower Kings") on the other screen as I type this - holy sh*t this is some good stuff!

Imagine Yes without Jon Anderson's screechy voice. Imagine Dream Theater with better melodies and slowed down to human-readable tempo.

I like this video even better than the Sigur Ros doc. It's THAT good.

Spock's Beard
Reminds me of the 56 song 4 CD project my son was involved in back in Y2K. It's called "Stalin Claus Superstar" it's the story of a war going on in the beard of Capt. Lou Albano while he was in a coma. Funny chit that is. He composed about 30% of it, orchestrated about 80% of it and engineered about 90% of it.

Watched both DVDs over the last few days.  The first disk was totally engaging.  I couldn't believe these guys had never registered on my radar.  What musicianship, what a sense of ensemble, what great music!  I thought the musicians were supurb across the board.  I don't normally even notice drummers all that much, but this guy impressed me with his sense of restraint.  He seemed to know just how far to dail it up and then not go beyond that.

The second disk didn't leave me cold, but it wasn't nearly the exciting experience that the first was.  I guess I'm not quite so taken with the experiments with Rock/Jazz fusion.  But when they're channeling Genesis or Yes, oh my, what a glorious thing that is.

Thanks for the heads-up, Bit.

Just listened to "The Truth Will Set You Free" on YouTube, it's nice to hear prog rock that's produced and mixed so well. Great stuff.
