By the way may i ask a question ....when we have K4 and install K5 , why K5 can't use K4 factory Lib ....in one word : do we have to re install another 40 Gb lib to use it K5 !! my sdd isn't expandable !! and i can't delete K4 since some old project still use it !!

Don't know how much duplication there actually is.
I had a full install of Komplete 6 and later upgraded to a full install of Komplete 9.
Looks like K5 may actually re-use the K4 libraries if they are there.
My Kontact4 Library folder is 42.9GB
My Kontact Factory Library folder (which appears to be Kontact5) only contains 23.2GB
and that increase should match the difference between going from Komplete 6 to Komplete 9.

I use K5 and K4 both so I did not install the K5 factory Lib. K5 works just fine with the K4 factory lib.

Another thing that is not very clear in the NI site : They speak about 25€/$ voucher if we adquire KU9, but do you confirm that is not available on every product which are 50% off or labelled "special offer" ? So, at the end, we cannot benefit from Voucher during this promo sale period, no ?

The voucher only works when buying directly from NI. Don't know how if it's valid during sales like this - have you checked the NI website?
 

yer there are still libs to buy even if you get ultimate. it's not everything, included in ultimate.. if you look at the comparsions , you'll see it's a good chunk of libs.
 
the voucher you get is in the box with a redeem code.. IF thats how they are still doing it.

"My understanding is that K5 uses a new compression format for the files which uses much less space. Unfortunately, to Use K4 and K5, you do have to install both libraries."
 
"You don't really have to. I use Kontakt 4 library without issues in Kontakt 5 - it just doesn't show in the Libraries tab. You can still load its NKIs from Files or QuickLoad (if you drop the K4 library folder in QuickLoad)."
 
i'm gonna try to load K5 stuff in K4 like this , and erase the bigger one !!

Sorry, I can't answer you concerning the compatibility between K4 and K5.
 
As for "Cuba", there are complete and interesting reviews on You Tube :

The samples sound rather clear with good dynamics and the loops seem to be groovy (the major problem, for me, is that the melodic loops (bass, piano, guitar) are not so flexible because you cannot play the chords you want : There are pre programmed serie of 4 chord patterns...
But, Zo, i'm a little curious but it's not your kind of music ? Do you want to make Urban salsa ?

Geez, I wish I could afford K9, but alas....    So I had to settle for Kontakt at the $125 crossgrade price.
