50 years ago I remember watching people being interviewed on TV right after the Kennedy assassination. Two people standing in front of grassy knoll stated that they heard 2 shots come from behind them. I never once have seen the interviews of those 2 people again.

I was wondering if there was going to be a post about this today.

The flags went from half-mast to full-mast on my birthday.

I remember seeing some History Channel or Science Channel special about five years ago where people took modern scientific abilities to look at the evidence and, with some serious photo-enhancing work you could see someone dressed as a police officer with that distinctive hat standing behind the fence on the grassy knoll holding a gun.  Now, supposedly, someone who has kept quiet all these years is telling a similar story.

As for me, I didn't need all of that to realize that the kill shot came from the FRONT and not the rear.  When a bullet hits someone there's usually a small opening on the way in and a much larger opening on the way out.  Unless the gun is pressed against the skin, there's little chance of material blowing back towards the shot yet we've all seen JFK's head snap back and watched Jackie crawling towards the back of the vehicle trying to grab a piece of his skull.

I was 6 at the time. Obviously, I was too young to fully comprehend what had happened. Out of the whole thing, the one image that seared into my young brain was the carriage with the casket and the reversed boots.

It was still, my birthday.

We were let out of school in Brazil, in the city of Araraquara in the state of Sao Paolo.

The following week some small kid weaved his way around a whole bunch of soccer players and he scored 3 times. His name was Pele! They were playing a team called Botafogo in Araraquara!

I must have read a hundred books about it and know alot more about Kennedy now but what happened that fateful day is still a mystery. Even the most seemingly obvious things are disputed now: http://assassinationscience.com/johncostella/jfk/intro/wound.html

I hope they make a new movie about it - it's a period of time I find very interesting. Kevin Costner was pretty good in that first one. The music was pretty stirring too!

Kennedy was killed Nov22 and Oswald Nov24.
