Ok latest update. I used a wiped hard drive and reloaded windows xp and all of my software. This did not fix the problem. I then downloaded ASIO4all and recorded something using the ASIO drivers. This did not fix the problem either, although it seemed to at first and then sure enough the audio is on a delay. I am no longer having issues with the audio being early. Now it is just late. I am using the x-fi card and that is it. It is the only one loaded onto this computer. I am really frustrated by now. I never had this issue before on three different computers and now I can't escape it.

Back to XP, not sure how you restored, if you don't have service pack 3 installed, I would get windows updated completely.

You may want to check all your driver settings. A safe sample rate should be 44100 for projects in the driver settings in Sonar Audio setup. Don't forget to launch the ASIO for all driver control panel and set the buffer rate as low as you can get it, too low will give you pops and drop outs, too high, latency.

I can't adjust the buffer rate at all. The slider is all the way to the left and is gray. It won't allow me to change it. It is set at 44100 and a dialog box at the bottom of my screen keeps popping up saying 44100 safe at 512 with ASIO settings.

ASIO buffers can only be adjusted via the ASIO control panel.

What you're experiencing is not related to buffer size anyway.

I don't know Dave, sounds like latency to me. I had that card and recorded with satisfactory results with GT 2.0 for a few years.  But 512 should at least should get usable results.  Kind of curious what you're thinking here. Mismatched projects that were started with different driver modes?

Ctrares82, That X-fi go a USB device? If so when you plug it in are you getting the warning "This device can perform faster on a USB 2.0..."  If that is the case, you really need those XP service packs to enable USB 2.0.

I looped the audio through but I cannot find where to zoom in. I cannot find the M:B:T display.

Yes it is a USB device. I do not get the dialog box about faster performance when I plug it in.
