Whoa! Digi Vue

Is it ironic that bayoubill achieved the rank of sergeant in the air force (if I am interpreting the avatar correctly) but has achieved the rank of general (going by those 5 stars) in the CH?

Senior Master Sergeant, one step from the highest enlisted rank achievable.
Is it ironic that irony is pronounced like it's spelled and iron isn't?

Darwin's Frog has gone extinct.  So, a frog named after Charles Darwin was an evolutionary dead end ... ironic?

Even though it wasn't written by Robert Plant, it sounds like it was written for RB.  It's been a while since I've heard the tune so I may well be wrong about this, but my impression was the girlfriend was spending all her time working out and concentrating on physical appearance while RB seemed to be interested in something deeper and didn't have to work at staying in shape because he got his exercise performing on stage.  Anyway, that's where I think the iron/irony line may come from.

I mostly pump gas.

It's not really the same thing.

Petrol or methane?  Never mind, ether, or--I don't want to know.

I decided to retire at 20 years and not stay in for 30. I was in line to be Band Manager for the Europe Band but that would have created many problems. My goal was to make Senior Master at 20 and I did. I was Senior NCO of the year twice! Onest I retired my goal was simple. To Live In A Van Down By the River ! I have achieved this goal also but due to a hurricane it's now a tent with a singing nurse in it. I have failed however in becoming a guitarist of favor and honorable mention in the eyes of MM100 who has backed out of beer and pizza several times. I now will focus on the art of making fudge!

So, is it ironic when Tony Stark (i.e., Robert Downey Jr.) wears a Black Sabbath Tee shirt or is it just obvious.

Dave, I don't have the answer but I can say this....during that time, "pumping iron" in NJ meant having sex. Would that change anything as to the lyrics? I believe it might IF that's how they meant it as well. :) Honest that's the truth. We all used that constantly around here and we assumed others did as well. It was common around here until probably 2000,

James: That album to me to this day....has the best clean guitar sound ever recorded. Absolutely beautiful.

That must have been some sort of south Jersey lingo ... that wasn't a north Jersey expression that I can remember (a New Jersey-ite for 47 years).

... for those of you not in the know, NJ is divided into 3 culturally diverse regions (north, central and south)
