From here, it look like that guitar is attaining character. It is inevitable that certain spots on a matte finish will get buffed to a sheen, and this is a reflection on your playing style. If you did that in five days, I'd say you have built a great relationship with the new girl.
If nothing else, she's definitely getting some attention.

:) I like instruments that have lived a little, so I'm okay with it. These days, I'm usually playing and/or noodling for 7-8 hours or more, 5 days a week. Between 8 pm and 4 am, it almost never leaves my hands. I may be watching movies or studying or reading or whatever, but I'm practically always playing or practicing scales or improvising and messing around. So I was bound to start wearing off that finish quickly.

By the way, prices dropped again due to Gibson's year end clearance. The SGJ did not seem to be included on other sites, but Sweetwater has them going for $429.
 
A steal, really. I'd grab another one if I could.
Or maybe grab one of those sub $500 LPJ or the SG 70s tribute for $519...
