Hi- I have not usually heard or read much on recording acoustic guitar from an acoustic amp. I have been having great results experimenting  using a mid-side set up in front of my Fishman loud box mini amp! I am doing it dry and then adding some slight verb to taste in my DAW. Great clarity and almost no noise - string and body-hit nuances are coming out with just the right ambiance. I  set the tone as desired on the amp eq settings, leaving the pick up EQ neutral. I am sitting far enough away from the amp, that the there is little to no bleed off the guitar, The resulting MS stereo spread sound just right to me. Very impressed - wanted to share this way and see who may have tried this method.
