I need something simple safe and clean for my laptop when I'm in art project mode and don't want to fire up *Rosey*.


I downloaded convertflvtomp3_setup.exe and I am thinking I might try it.

Any recommendations or specific warnings?

.flv is the extension of flash video... so for example I sometimes would like to quickly grab a quote from a YouTube stream.

I tried using Windows Sound Recorder but the results were choppy while the actual listening seemed smooth.

So, now I am looking for a offline conversion.

The .flv to .mp3 converters are very common... almost too common... and I was hoping to try one that is thought to be free of scam ware.

I have the s/pdif output from the mb onboard sound connected to my Firestudio so if there's any sound I want to grab I just fire up X1 and record it, regardless of the source format.

Have you tried the Free YouTube Downloader?  It not only retrieves the file for you, but will also output in a number of formats; I've used it with acceptable results.  http://youtubedownloader.com/

I just tried a free online converter... and now I have unwanted "album art" in my Win Media Player.
