The irony of complaining about abandonware and not being able to transfer software on the Cakewalk forum. Cakewalk has the same policy but nobody complains about it. How many people bought Sonar 8 that still have issues that they had to upgrade to X1 with in order to get a fix? Then had to upgrade to X2 to get those things fixed. I wish I could unload my copy of X1 to a new owner but nope Cakewalk says no go. How about them not updating Dimension Pro in even more time than Sampletank's last update? Cakewalk has not said a word about updating Dimension Pro but IK has said for 2 or 3 years that ST 3 is coming in the future and people want to rant rave and cry about it not being here yesterday. So much irony here.
The biggest point of IRONY here is that you obviously haven't been reading ALL the posts involved in this LONG and ONGOING discussion, which goes
way BEYOND this particular thread, nor do you seem to understand the discussion, and yet, want to give us "your ironic" opinion.
It has nothing to do with WHAT I THINK the time frame should be...it has to do with PROMISES made YEARS AGO....
The SampleTank line has been around for roughly 5 years. The last update to ST was in 2010. It's NOW over half way through 2013, and
64 bit OS has been around for quite a while longer. MOST decent software companies keep their products CURRENT. However, IK hasn't. They've
gone on an iCrap frenzy, using their resources to "gain NEW dollars" while neglecting their existing customers that have paid GOOD MONEY
for products that now, for the most part are "outdated" and somewhat unusable. While they CAN be used, they don't take advantage of
a technology (64 bit) that allows for better handling of memory and resources, even though that update has been promised for OVER
3 YEARS! We've gone through basicly 3 VERSIONS of Windows (all of which were 64 bit) and STILL the update to 64 bit is a NO SHOW.
This is a DELIBERATE neglect on thier part, and HAS BEEN. They are, and have been, seeking NEW revenue, and EVERY company should do so, but NOT
at the expense of existing customers and the products they've invested their money in, and have been promised support for. They've been promising SampleTank 3 for THREE YEARS....and nothing...yet they've pushed out, just in the past year, about a billion iCraps....and iCrap Hardware, then
updated T-Racks and Amplitube, and added new apps for those, the ONLY products they had that were already 64 bit, rather then delivering on the promises made.
I highly suggest you be a little "more" in the "know" about what you are speaking of, as this conversation has been ongoing for a
GREAT length of time, and not confined to the limited space of this single thread.
It has nothing to do with Cakewalk, and I agree that Cake has been majorly lax in a LOT of areas, while wasting resources on things that
they should not be...that's another discussion, and YES, it does compare to this...but this conversation isn't IRONIC in the least...
Cake has NEVER promised an update to Dimension Pro, and DP has been 64 bit for quite some time, so, while they haven't updated
it in FOREVER, they've NEVER said they were going to...nor have they been promising one for YEARS!!!
THAT is the issue here sir....
