The irony of complaining about abandonware and not being able to transfer software on the Cakewalk forum. Cakewalk has the same policy but nobody complains about it. How many people bought Sonar 8 that still have issues that they had to upgrade to X1 with in order to get a fix? Then had to upgrade to X2 to get those things fixed. I wish I could unload my copy of X1 to a new owner but nope Cakewalk says no go. How about them not updating Dimension Pro in even more time than Sampletank's last update? Cakewalk has not said a word about updating Dimension Pro but IK has said for 2 or 3 years that ST 3 is coming in the future and people want to rant rave and cry about it not being here yesterday. So much irony here.

The biggest point of IRONY here is that you obviously haven't been reading ALL the posts involved in this LONG and ONGOING discussion, which goes
way BEYOND this particular thread, nor do you seem to understand the discussion, and yet, want to give us "your ironic" opinion.

It has nothing to do with WHAT I THINK the time frame should be...it has to do with PROMISES made YEARS AGO....

The SampleTank line has been around for roughly 5 years.  The last update to ST was in 2010.  It's NOW over half way through 2013, and
64 bit OS has been around for quite a while longer.  MOST decent software companies keep their products CURRENT.  However, IK hasn't.  They've
gone on an iCrap frenzy, using their resources to "gain NEW dollars" while neglecting their existing customers that have paid GOOD MONEY
for products that now, for the most part are "outdated" and somewhat unusable.  While they CAN be used, they don't take advantage of
a technology (64 bit) that allows for better handling of memory and resources, even though that update has been promised for OVER
3 YEARS!  We've gone through basicly 3 VERSIONS of Windows (all of which were 64 bit) and STILL the update to 64 bit is a NO SHOW.

This is a DELIBERATE neglect on thier part, and HAS BEEN.  They are, and have been, seeking NEW revenue, and EVERY company should do so, but NOT
at the expense of existing customers and the products they've invested their money in, and have been promised support for.  They've been promising SampleTank 3 for THREE YEARS....and nothing...yet they've pushed out, just in the past year, about a billion iCraps....and iCrap Hardware, then
updated T-Racks and Amplitube, and added new apps for those,  the ONLY products they had that were already 64 bit, rather then delivering on the promises made.

I highly suggest you be a little "more" in the "know" about what you are speaking of, as this conversation has been ongoing for a
GREAT length of time, and not confined to the limited space of this single thread.

It has nothing to do with Cakewalk, and I agree that Cake has been majorly lax in a LOT of areas, while wasting resources on things that
they should not be...that's another discussion, and YES, it does compare to this...but this conversation isn't IRONIC in the least...
Cake has NEVER promised an update to Dimension Pro, and DP has been 64 bit for quite some time, so, while they haven't updated
it in FOREVER, they've NEVER said they were going to...nor have they been promising one for YEARS!!!

THAT is the issue here sir....

Obi,

I know IK is working on sampletank 3 and it will be out when it's out.

Does IK have plans to update/upgrade any of the other products that are in the Total Studio 3 -Miroslav Philharmonik, Sonik Synth 2 and SampleMoog?????  AAX, 64bit etc. (really only care about 64bit as I don't use ProTools but still).

Honestly I really do not need another modeled compressor / limiter and the boutique amps n effects don't hold much interest for me in Amplitube but I can see others like them and use them.

Oh and keep posting at Cakewalk - only way I can find out about some of the IK products is seeing the announcments you post or reply to others that have posted.  (BTW the IK website has been down for 2 hours - really annoying hahahaha).

I'm really not sure whether IK will update the individual custom players (Miroslav, Sonik Synth, etc) - however, since these can already be accessed directly via SampleTank, it's very likely that they will still usable in ST3. I seem to remember that IK confirmed that.

Obi,

You are a welcome (and valuable) asset in this forum, so don't take it personally...
My statements are directed at a company that has apparently lost sight of those
that made it what it is, in favor of "I" mania....and that's sad to me...

AND, if they do that to these programs NOW, what's to say that the others aren't next?

I saw the same thing Ol'e pal. I'm pretty sure you're correct and everything will be available for just ST3.

I second CCLarry's remark. I don't hold any bad feeling toward you. I just think the IK forum is lunacy. Why have a forum if you don't want people getting help from other people? I can see deleting posts that are rude but when you delete them because you don't like dissent, that's just to gestapo'esqu to me. Maybe gestapo is a bit harsh but there you go.

Yes. The next generation of SampleTank will be able to read all of the current libraries inside of it, plus a few extras....

You seem to bring up our iOS/Android stuff more than I do.

Example:

Digital Trends tests iRig Mic Cast with Android Phone
App Advice concludes "the clarity of sound with iRig HD is fantastic"
Enter Now to Win Jimi Hendrix Albums & IK Mobile Music Gear!
IK’s Special iPhone Apps Sale
iRig MIX & GrooveMaker Special Anniversary Sale!
iRig Mic Android App of the Week: Talkbox
iRig MIX Android App of the Week: DJ Studio 5
148 Apps finds both iRig HD and AmpliTube Studio to be "outstanding"
CD Baby Reviews iRig HD
iLoud Now Available for Pre-Orders
iRig HD: "I can't get enough of the thing!"
iKlip Stand, the desktop riser stand, now available
iRig BlueBoard now open for pre-orders

And those are just from the last 2ish weeks. We have far more updates I could link as well, but I know these forums don't care about these things. So I don't post them. Yet you love to bring them up? Why would advancing musical technology be sad? It is what IK Multimedia has been known for since the 90s.

The IK forums have always been to talk about technique, recording, performing and how users are using our gear. Sharing their music, set ups and gear/feature requests. We have always said that the forums are NOT for support/technical issues (We have a whole department for that, I think we call them support?) But that's all besides the point. We want to create conversation, not just be told we suck at what we do. Because we don't. We have been the LEADERS in our Industry and one that other legendary companies are looking towards and working with.

Good grief, Obi.  Why is it that you, a representative of a company that's trying to sell us products, seem to think that getting into public battles with customers makes you look good?  Whatever happened to the maxim "the customer is always right?"  Trying to prove people wrong, constantly touting your firm as the best, spamming multiple threads with the latest product announcement -- none of it engenders goodwill for you.  I suggest adopting a more respectful attitude toward the users of this and other forums.  We're the ones who ultimately pay your bills, after all.   Don't bother responding to trolls, "haters," and whining about how IK does things (that's right, even my own whining -- it won't change anything, anyway).  Your post I quoted above was completely unnecessary.  It just makes you look petulant and thin-skinned.

I'm not saying you shouldn't ever post here -- if you have helpful information, it's always appreciated.  But getting into fights doesn't do anybody any good.

Cheers,
Eddie

Hey Obi,

You said "The next generation of SampleTank will be able to read all of the current libraries inside of it, plus a few extras...."

Can you give us some hints about the "few extras"? Does that mean there are other current formats that it will read?

If we guess, can you tell us were right or wrong?

Oh dear, Obi meltdown again? They sure don't make Jedi like they use to...

Please be gentle with the IK reps, they are apparently not accustomed to free speech
