Friends,

Great upgrade and about all one could want.

FWIW, looked at my arsenal of guitar processors and weeding out the excess.

S-Gear in the lineup. Still using Amplitube and Guitar Rig. Using AcmeBarGig Headcase for sustain and howl that none of these can come close to.

Plug & Mix overdrive and distortion units are incredible. Think they still have a free offering for one of the plugs if you like on facebook. Check out the California Tone.

Another brilliant  overdrive option (tho you'll need a noise gate...) is the forgotten Tinbrooktales plugs. Seems abandoned, no updates for years but the retro archive is still there. This was way ahead of its digital time and cool even now. I sequence one compressor into the next to up the heat. Several to choose from.

Good stuff if you don't already have these.

Back to the point of the post. Good upgrade to Scuffham. Quick response from the dev if you have problems. 100 bucks well spent for a license on 2 computers.

Just a quick note that Scuffham has a new download @ V 2.21 that fixed a crash when launching Sonar X1 and earlier versions of Sonar. Also took care of a similar crash launching Traction.

This is very good news. Just over the past weekend I was enjoying whatever version I currently have and was thinking about whether Scuffham had issued any upgrades. Will have to download this evening.

I think the S-Gear sim is my favorite but I do like some of the more bizarre effects in GR5.

I  finally had a chance to run the Wayfarer through some paces last night.  Sound's really nice.  It is almost like having 3 amps in one.

I too ran the Wayfarer for quite a while last night, and I am mighty impressed.  I will also reiterate what some others have said:  the presets are FANTASTIC.  Given how many parameters there are, how integrated the EQ sections are with the various gain stages, and all the cabinet and speaker combinations you can use, it can be daunting to get the most out of each amp.  The SGEAR folks know these amps inside and out, and really supplied some wonderful sounding presets.  Even as starting points, they are truly great sounding.

S-Gear v2.25 is now available for download.

This release introduces ProTools 32 and 64 bit AAX format for ProTools 10 and ProTools 11.

ProTools 10 users must be running v10.3.6 or later.

Has anyone had any problems with S-Gear v2.25 and Sonar X2 64-bit? I uninstalled my old version of S-Gear, installed the new version, and now Sonar X2 hangs up trying to load the S-Gear VST.
