My advice... try to find a job that pays well and does not require work. Jobs that require work never pay very well.

We have guys who do those jobs over here. They are called supervisors or something like that and you see them at road works. There will be about 3-4 of them supervising one guy doing all the shovelwork. It's like a chaingang where the numbers are reversed between the guards and prisoners.

Yeah... it seems like I have always been too busy working to have time to make any money. Thankfully, I married up.

Good photo craigb. Poor Andre- but who took the photo I wonder. Maybe NASA from orbit- they have that kind of tech.

Reminds me of this Chinese classic of the officials inspecting the road: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2009957/Photoshop-picture-Chinese-officials-inspecting-road-ridiculed-world.html

Sorry if I derailed this thread. I hope you find gainful employment Bitflipper.

Ha!  I love it when people take one of those "weird" pictures and just run with it.  I've got a couple of these trainwrecks saved, but my favorites are one of this overweight asian kid (see below) and one from Gear Sluts of a guy singing into a mic that just went off (Click Here).  I'll add the link to the Wolf Guy so Bit can have something to look at while waiting for the next interview call.

This kid is the other one:

As for the Linked In suggestions, I just looked at my profile for the first time in a long time and all I can say is I'm not sure how much it will help!  I did see several people I used to work with that had some really creative lies skills and work history listed.

The Andre picture is obviously photoshopped: the marketing manager has dirt on his shoes.

Write a dumb iPhone game full of flashing colors, preferably involving candy and/or jewels.

I just read that Candy Crush is making its owners $400,000 per DAY.

Per DAY.

Dave,

Don't overlook the fact that you have first rate communication skills, as you have amply demonstrated here again and again.  It's rare enough for a software developer to be able to string a series of words together in a grammatcially correct fashion.  It's even more rare when they can construct a document that communicates what is needed with clarity.  Be sure and emphisize that skill to whomever you contact regarding employment.

Best of luck.

dmbaer has a very good point here

Bit,

you should ask everyone here on this forum who has benefitted from your shared knowledge and wisdom to donate $10 to the KBS (Keep Bitflipper Solvent) Fund. If you don't get enough to pay the bills, you should at least get plenty enough to enable you to buy something to make you forget about them for a good while.........

I set up a similar fund for me a while back.

Apparently I now owe around $1,930...
