I read that.
 
They must mean they can distinguise 65,536 different velocities, however as MIDI supports 128 velocity values (0 - 127) I wonder how this works.
 
I always understood "velocity layers" to mean the number of layered samples that switched (or cross-faded) at different velocities.
 
So still ?????????????
