I saw someone else posting in the X-Series forum about having similar issues, but it's working fine for me.  Are you running x64 or 32bit? And is it Windows 7 or 8.  I'm on Windows 7 x64 using 64bit SONAR X3.

Yes - I should have said - running 64 Bit on Windows 7 Home. Entire system is 64 bit & every plug & program is 64 bit, where possible.

Again, none of my other plugs fail in either DAW.

It works stand alone, but I noticed that in Sonar X2a that the 32 bit version was the one that was availabe.

Now we all know that Bitbridge will handle that, as will Cubases as well, but I installed the 64 Bit version for sure as well. I'm thinking that's where the problem is hiding - in between an install screw up between 32 bit & 64 bit. Perhaps the 64 bit version is corrupted on my 64 bit system?

Have you tried moving the 32-bit DLL so that SONAR doesn't see it?  I know with the UAD plug-ins I always have to more 32-bit folder from the default install location so that SONAR won't see them or it will try to bridge the 32-bit on some plugins instead of using the 64bit.  Once you remove the 32-bit there is no problem and it uses the 64bit.

Thanks. I will give it a try.

Yes indeed - that worked!

Thanks!

Ultra Analog VA-2 v2.0.1 Update

Is there a way to import VA-1 3rd party libs or custom patches?
>>Yes - works very nice.
Here's info from the manual:
Ultra Analog VA-2 includes a converter that allows one to import programs from Ultra Analog VA-1. The conversion operation first involves the creation of an Ultra Analog VA-1 .axf export file using the Export command from the File menu. This file must then be copied with the other Ultra Analog VA-2 banks in the following folder:

On Mac OS:
/Users/[user name]/Library/Application Support/Applied Acoustics Systems/Ultra Analog VA-2/Banks

On Windows:
%AppData%\Applied Acoustics Systems\Ultra Analog VA-2\Banks
The simplest way to access the bank folder is to use the Show Files button in the Ultra Analog VA-2 bank manager which will open a Finder or Explorer window on Mac OS X or Windows respectively at the right location.

The Ultra Analog VA-1 export file will then automatically be converted to an Ultra Analog VA-
2 bank having the same name as that of the .axf export file. This new bank will appear along with the other banks in the banks manager and include converted versions of all the programs contained in the .axf export file. Note that the programs will appear in the new bank as a flat list which means that any sub-folder organization within the export file will be lost in the conversion process.

While the great majority of programs should be recuperated without noticeable differences, the conversion program is not infallible which means that some programs might need some re-adjustments after the conversion. This is due to the fact that the mapping of the parameters from Ultra Analog VA-1 to Ultra Analog VA-2 is not direct as a result of changes in the architecture, modules and the effect section between the two versions.

Not that this has anything to do with the AAS Ultra Analog VA-2 and all that but back to the Oberheim or Sonic projects OPX Pro Mk II.

I started by buying the OPX which is the bottom of the products ladder but amazing anyway. I have just upgraded to the OPX Pro II. It is quite an amzing thing and the Pro II version is like an Oberheim on steroids. The Pro version comes with 1500 patches and you can get in an download a whole of free patches too probably totalling another 500 or more.

But the sound is just so Oberheim and real sounding and very very very authentic.
