I always see them in the supermarket, feel an initial "Ooo, pomegranates" which is quickly shot down by an image of me picking the seeds out with a pin.

Never had a pomegranate.  So, once you're done with that technique (which also tends to work when you need to knock some sense into someone), do you eat what's left in the bowl (i.e., the seeds) or the rest of the fruit?

Eat the seeds unless you want a face like a bulldog sucking a lemon.
 
Don't chew the seeds too hard, if you break the actual seed they will taste bitter.

Some places sell the seeds in tubs. They're really tasty.

My Grandma Garner had a pomegranate bush in her yard. Ate them right off the branch.
