I'm a novice to the MIDI world and I'm having some audio issues.  I recen't purchased a A-PRO 800 which I'm using with SONAR 8 Producer Edition w/Focusrite Saffire PRO10 as the sound card.
After installing the A-PRO software, I ensured the device was found by going into "options - MIDI devices" then ensured that the device was connected by going to the "options - Controller/surfaces."
When I create a MIDI track I can click record and see that information is being recorded but I don't hear anything during the recording process or playback.  I've been reading in the help menu, SONAR Power manual, searching youtube without finding out what I'm doing wrong.
Also, should I see the A-PRO as a "Soft Synth?"

No, you should not see the A-PRO as a softsynth, but you do need a softsynth of some kind to produce sound.
The A-PRO is a MIDI Input Device only. It does not produce sound.
A MIDI track alone will not produce sound. It is merely data that tells a softsyth what to do.
It would appear that the missing link is a softsynth.
Do you have one inserted, and associated with your MIDI track?

The softsynth was the issue.  I added the TTS-1 and presto I had sound.  Thanks for squaring me away.

Good deal.
You have just unlocked the door to a huge world of playable sounds and your controller is the key.
Enjoy the possibilities.
