Hi guyz , since i'm still gonna stay on x1D for serious projects  , can i udate anyway melodyne essential to editor and use it in X1D , i know the integration will not happen but will it be like a regular vst or will i have to use it as a standalone app .?

You'll get the standalone and VST, I think you can even run it with rewire in the DAW

The VST is somewhat limited compared to the full editor. I think you'll enjoy it more as a separate app, using either Rewire or Celemony's own bridge plugin.

Vst own bridge plugin ? ok so i insert it adn it make the liaison between the standalone ?

Yeh, under the hood it's like that, but much more convenient. With Rewire an external application looks like it's part of the host, like a normal plugin. What's really happening behind the scenes is the audio is being transferred in real time from the other application back into the host. You then bounce it to actually pull the data into the host for real.

Thks Bit ....

was more talking about the standalone , i know how rewire works , just wanted to know if stnadalone is kinda "linked" to sonar like Soundforge is (reachable via utilities menu ) ?

Thks again

I just upgraded to editor last night. So bitflipper you say that it's best to work in the standalone? Or with X3 it's all in the box?

With X3 it's all integrated with ARA, though I'm sure could still use Singletrack with rewire, I don't know why you'd want too since there is nothing you can do in Singletrack that can't be done in the VST version but it is an option.

I was replying to Grem, but the same holds for Standalone vs VST in X1.  There is a bug in Sonar X1d though as far as bouncing or freezing in that you have to use realtime bounce/freeze.
