The part I don't get is all they would have to do is make it a 64 bit vst and give it a resizable GUI and they would have had a lot of happy Customers long ago... oh yeah, and additional revenue. I'm sure that would take some time but years???

The "al la carte" thing doesn't bother me so much. If that's the way they want to sell/deliver their products than so be it.
 
I'm with you on the "years" bit. Though with the capabilities of Kontakt, the bar was set pretty high.

I don't think SampleTank 3 will come close to Kontakt...
but one can hope...

I decided to install my East West Symphonic Symphony Silver
(the ORIGINAL NI version) in Win 8.  Very surprised that it works.
Not the stand alone mind you, but the VST.  I was even MORE 
surprised that it immediately became available in Kontakt.  BONUS!

I did try to upgrade to PLAY Edition, but they REALLY screwed the order
up, so I told them to stick it where the sun don't shine...I ordered the
Play Silver upgrade, which was on sale for half off @ $49.  They took the $49,
and I waited for about 3 days.  I didn't get anything, so I wrote them
and said HEY what's up?  They said "We were unable to charge your
Credit Card $149 for GOLD."  I said "I didn't order GOLD, I ordered
SILVER for $49, which you already have been paid for".  They never
responded.

I got a refund on my card for the $49...never another word from them.
SCAMMERS....Not a "We're sorry" nothing....they lost my business...

I've been fortunate with Soundonline and my Composers Collection. Play 4 works in Win 7. I'm happy with that package and my Komplete 8.
 
I did not go with Komplete 9 as I did not care to get the Rick bass (since I had my sights on and now have OTS Rick) and some FX's for $400. I already had Action Strings (Christmas Gift from The Lovely Lady), Session Horns, Abbey Road Vintage Drummer and The Giant (I only paid $270 for those and I had the use of them long before Komplete 9 came out).

No. SampleTank 3 will not have the Custom Shop at launch. The library will be huge, at....nvm. I'll just leave it til we release. I keep forgetting, hints just come back to bite me later. Its on its way...
