I lost Zorro 14 years old last year.  he was a good dog.

I know it's of no condolence, but I've been where you are. 18 years when Jake went. I waited a month and got Elvis. It made the loss of Jake so much easier. It'll get better but it takes a little time.

You lost a dear friend.  And right this minute there are no doubt a number of animals at your local animal shelter in desparate need of a friend.  You'll do Sweetie no diservice to adopt one of them right away.  It will be good for you and possibly life-saving your new companion.  Peace.

Yes I did lose a good friend. Dogs are a lot of work and responsibility, and I have done my job over the last 16 years. I'm going to take a break from animals for a while.
