Speaking of James Taylor, this has been stuck in my craw for several days now.
Going back to the 90’s, I never did like the expression “EXTREME” (say it loud with reverb). Moving forward to today, I just hate the expression “EPIC” and even more so, “EPIC FAIL”. The word epic, at least in my mind is interchangeable with an expression like “of Biblical proportions” and describes events like Moses parting the Red Sea or Man landing on the moon and it is not a term that should be used to describe my breakfast cereal. When I think Epic Fail, I think tragic or catastrophic event like the Hindenburg Disaster.
In game 2 of the World Series James Taylor sang the National Anthem and (most likely) unintentionally started to sing “O Beautiful” and then seamlessly went into the National Anthem.
A bunch of them aren’t posted anymore but the day after the game, a whole slew of youtoob channels had the little flub posted as an “EPIC FAIL” …. case in point:

And here it is complete, JT’s wonderful interpretation of the National Anthem. It starts at about 1:20 after they introduce the color guard:
